Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Kathleen and I am by no means a professional photographer, rather a lover of photography. I have been asked to write a little sumthin’, sumthin’ on Mrs. Williams’ blog and what better to way to get acquainted with you then with a little bit of phootgraphy love from a novice’s point of view. Now I adore the art and nostalgia that accompanies picture-taking. There is just something heart warming about looking through old photos and reminiscing about the good times, poking fun of how people used to look/dress, and simply remembering the way things used to be. A picture can be so powerful. I believe that is why I am so in love with everything photography. I have found myself collecting all sort of strange cameras and desiring more. I am by no means ashamed of my “camera hoarding”, instead I want to shout my love for cameras from the rooftops (but a blog will have to do for the time being). So after much ado let’s get into it. I own around 6 cameras, give or take a few. Some old, some new, and some that hardly even work ; ). I don’t discriminate. I have a Digital Canon Rebel T2i, a Canon PowerShot Digital Elph, a Fujifilm Instax, and a slew of point and shoot’s from Lomography (Diana, Fisheye, etc.). Not only do I have these tangible cameras but I also frequently use a number of photography apps for the iphone. Some of my favorites ways to share such photography goodness is by using Instagram, PicFrame, IncrediBooth, Hipstamatic, and 8mm. These apps have such a vintage, throwback kind of feeling and I love it. I find such joy in capturing that perfect moment and although I am sorry for being “that person” always sticking a camera in your face; I don’t regret it. One day when I am advanced in years it will be so rad looking over old photos with my family and grandkids. So I guess the point of all my rambling is this: Take as many pictures with as many cameras (and apps) as you’d like. Whether you’re a professional (Like Jessica), or a newbie (like me) photos will always be enjoyed and cherished by all. Life is short so try to capture as many moments as possible. Here are a few of my cameras, or babies as I’d like to call them, and some of my current favorite photos. Simply leave your cursor over the photo and it will tell you the title and camera used to take it. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
