I know I have mentioned it before but we are getting closer and closer to getting back into our own house. While we are sooooooo very thankful that we have such gracious parents to take us in, we are very excited (as they are I’m sure) to get back to the space we once had. I can’t wait to decorate our house again in fun, new ways. Since I am in house mode I thought a Home Edition of the series would be fun.
So we now know where we will be living… back in our old place. So random I know, but our landlord is awesome and really wanted us back in there. So June 1st baby!! Back into our own space.. The cool thing (for the planner in me) is to know already what the house looks like and how everything is set up.. I already know that instead of having the front room as a studio, that will be my craft/Grayson’s playroom. I am so excited for it! For my birthday Scott got me some shelves and a table top for my side, and we picked up a neat shelving unit for all of G’s toys. I have this vision in my head of me working at the table and him playing in our own home and my heart fills with happiness. Goodness gracious that is a rabbit trail. That long winded point leads me to this craft room, I absolutely adore it. Now obviously I will not have as much space as she does but I love it, and want to use some of it as inspiration for ours. Jaime is one of the ladies I was talking about in my Instagram post who (I don’t know at all) but love to follow because of the inspiration she gives. She always posts the cutest pictures on Instagram, has a lovely Etsy shop and adorable blog.. You can find all of her information over here. I really wish that we could just slap on a coat of white paint throughout the entire house and start all over. Our landlord wouldn’t care I don’t think, but Scott on the other hand.. Not into it. So it’s kind of a challenge to bring the things I like now into the paint colors we had before. Our bathroom is one that I wish was different, it is sort of a sea foam green. Nice, but I would never pick it now.. Anyway, I can’t wait to do something like this in that bathroom.. I already have the ones picked out that I want to do, I just need to order the canvases. I might do four smaller ones instead of just two. We’ll see! (You can find the link for this image on my Pinterest boardhere and it originally came from this blog.) Scott wants to build our next dinner table, so someday maybe we’ll have one like this. You can find the DIY for this one over at iheartnaptime. The kitchen in that house is not big at all, so I think something like this would be perfect. Technically this is a bar cart, but we don’t drink so for us it would just be additional space. I will also probably want it to be a color (or possibly just white) instead of brown, but it looks great like this too. You can find the tutorial here. You already know from a previous post how much I adore everything that Shanty 2 Chic comes up with!I think that about covers my favorites for this Friday. We’re taking Grayson to the zoo tomorrow and I am so excited to see him around all of those animals. It’s going to be so fun! Have a great weekend! xoxo
So I have wanted to start a couple of blog series for a while but haven’t had the time. It’s funny because I am going to be busier in the fact that I now have a full time job and on some weeks will be away from the house for over 50 hours a week but I actually think I might have more time to blog. I am thinking if I bring my computer to work (which I have today) then I can work on my lunch. Brilliant right? I’ll let you in on a little something about me.. I think all of my friends would call me a social person.. a butterfly if you will.. But when I work, and then take my lunch or breaks.. I want to be left alone. Is that weird? Like I avoid eye contact and everything.
Anyway, moving on.. Blog series! Having a full time office job with every other Friday off, Friday’s naturally will become my favorite day of the “work week” plus it’s the day that I would like to share a few of my favorite things. So, that’s where the name comes in. I know you didn’t ask where the name came from but there you go, now you know. I probably won’t do this every week just because I don’t want either of us to get burnt out, but just it’s something fun for me to do when I have the time.
So my first Fridays are my favorite post is all about Valentine’s Day. Nothing in particular except these are my favorite Valentine ideas that I’ve seen on Pinterest.
First up, a free printable lunch box note made by Today’s Creative Blog. I know that Grayson has a while to go until he takes lunches but I totally know that I am going to the mom that sends little notes in my kids’ lunches. When I was pregnant with Grayson and my birthday had rolled around, I had started to plan this magical Valentine’s dinner but in celebration of.. well. me! I had it all planned and ready to go and Scott mysteriously forget his job duties and we had to run to my parent’s house for something.. I had NO idea but he had planned a surprise party for me!! I was shocked, and so excited. I didn’t think he could ever pull off a surprise party just because I am so stinkin nosey, and I catch on to everything. All that to say, I still have not gotten to host a Valentine’s dinner and I really would like to. I love this table setting Treats right below your plate, yes please! Ruffled you sure know how to decorate for a party.Being that it is getting closer and closer to us moving back into our own place, every time I see something I love I just dream about decorating our place again. I know that it hasn’t been that long but even the past year my style has changed and I have so many new ideas for the way I’d like our house.. This Valentine Mantle by adventures in pinksugarland is just lovely! You know me and my arrows these days. Go see the rest of her pictures, this one doesn’t do it justice. Speaking of houses, my next favorite is not exactly Valentines-ee but it does have a heart and I am very excited for it because…. we are going to be making it in our craft group in March!! SO it will be hanging in our house just as soon as we figure out where we will be living! If you are on Pinterest than I am sure you have seen it, it is the LOVE wall art by Shanty-2-Chic. Seriously, they make the BEST things and give tutorials and nothing is crazy expensive.
Now to finish off, let’s end with more arrows.. And more sugar. I am not the biggest donut fan unless I am in a donut mood. But when they look like this, how would I be able to resist. These Cupid’s donut whole arrows by Squirrelly Minds are just the cutest!!
